Prof. Vinay Kishore Singh

Prof. Vinay Kishore Singh is an eminent educationist, dedicated social worker and a person deeply rooted in the values of patriotism, discipline, honesty and service. Born on 2 July 1953 at Neknaam Tola in Bhojpur district, Bihar, he is the son of Late Shri Sheo Bachcha Singh and Late Smt. Devlato Devi. He belongs to a family with a proud legacy of patriotism and public service. His great-grandfather, Late Shri Chhabinath Singh, popularly known as "Suraji Baba," was a freedom fighter.

Prof. Singh received his initial education at Nathmalpur and completed his high school education at Gaziapur in Bhojpur. He pursued his Intermediate in Science at Patna Science College, followed by graduation from Ara Jain College. He subsequently obtained his M.Sc. in Physics from Magadh University, Bodh Gaya. His academic journey laid the foundation for a long and distinguished career in teaching.

Since 1980, Professor Singh has been associated with J.D. Women's College, Patna, where he has devoted himself to teaching Physics and contributing to the academic development of generations of students. Over the years, he has served as a Senior Professor in the department, earning respect for his knowledge, discipline, sincerity and unwavering commitment to his profession. He continues to remain actively engaged in teaching and university examination-related activities, reflecting his enduring passion for academics.

A person with a strong sense of national pride and social responsibility, Prof. Singh has consistently worked for the welfare of underprivileged people and the larger good of society. As the Working President of Rajput Mahasabha for nearly ten years, he actively worked for the upliftment and guidance of the younger generation. His social life has also been marked by his willingness to help relatives, friends and members of society and contribute towards resolving their problems.

Prof. Singh was married in 1974 to Late Smt. Ramawati Singh of Tirthkaul village, Sandesh, Arrah. He has three children—one son and two daughters—and three grandchildren. His elder son is a professor of management studies and is also pursuing a career in politics. His elder daughter is a doctor and his younger daughter is a teacher. As a devoted father and grandfather, he has played a significant role in supporting and guiding his family, particularly in the upbringing of his grandchildren.

An accomplished sportsperson with a special interest in athletics, Prof. Singh won several prizes and awards during his younger years. His interest in sports continues, and he remains an enthusiastic follower of cricket, football and lawn tennis. He is also an avid reader of spiritual literature and takes a keen interest in political discussions.

Above all, Professor Vinay Kishore Singh is known for his honesty, discipline, hard work and sincerity. Throughout his life, he has guided his family with wisdom and strong values, emphasising dedication to one's profession, integrity in conduct and commitment to family and society. He continues to lead an active and socially engaged life, inspiring those around him through his example.
