Dr. Rohit Singh

Dr. Rohit Singh, born on 11 July 1964, is a distinguished Urologist, academician, teacher, and clinician from Patna, Bihar. A proud alumnus of St. Michael's High School, Patna, his journey reflects a lifelong commitment to academic excellence, medicine, teaching, and patient care.

After completing his schooling at St. Michael's High School, Dr. Singh pursued his higher education at Patna Science College. He subsequently completed his MBBS from Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), Patna. Driven by his passion for surgery, he pursued postgraduate training in General Surgery from BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur. He later specialised in Urology and completed his MCh in Urology from the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (IMS-BHU), Varanasi.

Apart from his academic pursuits, Dr. Singh was an avid cricket player during his school and early college years. With over 26 years of experience as a Consultant Urologist, he has established himself in the field of Urology in Bihar.

He currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology at PMCH, Patna, where he is actively involved in academics and the training of future urologists. He also serves as a senior guide and mentor to DrNB students in Urology.

In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Singh has been associated as a Consultant Urologist at Raj Laxmi Hospital and Stone Clinic, where he manages a wide spectrum of urological conditions, including diverse and complex cases.

Dr. Rohit Singh is regarded as one of the pioneers of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) for the treatment of renal stones in Bihar, contributing to the advancement and adoption of modern minimally invasive stone treatment in the region.

An active academician, he has authored and contributed to several publications in national medical journals. He has also presented numerous scientific papers at national and international conferences, demonstrating his continued commitment to research, innovation, and academic medicine.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Singh has been married to Dr. Mamta Singh, a radiologist associated with Lifeline Imaging Centre, Patna, since 1991. They are parents to two daughters. Dr. Rohit Singh's life represents a journey of dedication, perseverance, academic achievement, and service.
